The land of wonders.

Treasures, secrets, riddles, legends - the seven wonders of the ancient world. These are the topics that have continued to captivate our imagination and continue to mystify us about the land of the earth's oldest civilizations.

The region of the River Nile is an area so rich in historical significance that only its beguiling waters hold the secrets of bygone eras. The riddle of the Sphinx or the stunning vistas of the mile high walls of the Blue Nile Gorge are but mere hints to the enchanting spells that past civilizations have cast upon us.

From the fertile banks of the River Nile have sprung not only the shoots of nourishment that have sustained and fed civilizations, but also the reeds of imagination that have been woven and threaded and passed down through the ages to form the rich fabric of enduring tales. In over 9,000 years of civilization along her banks, this region has collected a body of legends that has danced over a litany of topics like a lively sprite playing tricks in the night. Few regions can match the charm of an area once referred to as the "land of wonder".

As the gurgling waters of the Blue Nile drift and churn through the regions of Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt our camera lens will pass over the sacred soil and lands where stories were born, legends were formed and mysteries told. For it is difficult to capture the simple colours of a region without being influenced by the sound of her history. The history of the Nile is the history of civilization itself. The voice of the river so loud it has echoed since time immemorial.
